How to Clone a VM on CloudPap

Cloning a VM involves creating a VM with the same settings, files, and operating system as the parent VM. In this guide, we will look into how we can clone a VM on CloudPap.

Login to your CloudPap dashboard and identify the VM you want to clone. Then click the Clone button below your VM:

Click the confirmation button to proceed with the cloning process:

The clone process will begin and may take some time depending on the current data and settings on your VM.

When the cloning is complete, you will see the cloned VM with a “clone” name on its hostname:

You can now access it via the SSH terminal. If you cannot access it via SSH terminal, even when the cloned VM’s status is Running, reboot the cloned VM. Remember to use the same user and password as the parent VM:

You have successfully cloned your VM with the same data as the parent VM.
