Backups are essential in our day-to-day use of VMs, especially when a disaster strikes. We will look at how we can set up backups, change frequency, and restore a backup.
Log in to your CloudPap dashboard and go to your VM:

There, you will see some details about your VM. You will also see a table showing your VM’s backups (if any) as well as the Change Frequency button.
You can initiate a backup at any time. Click the Action dropdown button, then click Backups. Click the green Backup button on the popup:

The backup process may take some time depending on the total amount of data in your VM. Once the process is done, it will appear on the Backups table:

To restore a backup, click the Restore button and the end of the Backup row. You will receive a warning that the backup will overwrite the current state of the VM and restore it as it was when the backup was done. Click Restore to proceed:

That’s it, your backup will be restored:

You can change the frequency of your backups. There are four backup plans; daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly. To change the plan, click the Change Frequency button, then choose the desired options:

That’s it, you have successfully created and managed your VM backups.
